Insight – makes us think of a word that sounds similar, inside.
To get insight into a situation, you have to get inside a situation.
You cannot have insight if you are removed or distracted, if you have pulled away. You have to get close to the issue.
Insight is often a responsive reflection. In fact, experience often turns reflection into insight.
Leaders have insight because they gotten inside the circle, the relationship, the journey. They have been there, felt it and touch it, they have experienced it themselves. And that insight they have, because they have been inside the situation, allows them to lead with far-sight and vision.
You have to start right where you are if you want to expand and get where you are going.
