Simply put and straightforward, we stand on the Hit Exchange Report. It’s our foundation! It’s our guide! It’s our standard! If it’s not tested and ranked, we don’t include it in TrafficHoopla.
Do a search online for “best” resources and you’ll find many sites ready to give you advice. In my early days online, inexperienced and naive, I took some advice that later proved to be based only on a person’s opinion and/or affiliation. And although anecdotal evidence may brim with enthusiasm, there isn’t much to back it up.
What is anecdotal evidence? Most often it takes the form of testimonials. For example: “This program is FANTASTIC!! I’ve made thousands of dollars with it!!” It’s brimming with enthusiasm, but there isn’t much to back up the implication that you will achieve similar results. It does show that you can find someone somewhere to say most anything.
By the way, we take anecdotal evidence with a very serious grain of salt.
Some estimate that there are more than 1000 hit exchanges online today. I’m not sure about that, but I do know there are hundreds and most are worthless. How do we know? No, we do not test all exchanges. We don’t need to as anyone can check a site’s basic traffic volume, incoming links, etc. to quickly determine if anyone is using the exchange. And if no one is standing ready to look at your advertisements, why use it.
Now for our disclaimer (smile): No, we do not consider TrafficHoopla and the Hit Exchange Report as “the” standard or guide. But we do loudly proclaim them as our standard and our guide.
