Top 10 safelists are selected based on overall performance for the last six weeks. The ranking is determined by using statistics that can be measured and verified.
Why just 10? Although there are hundreds of safelists online today, statistically most are worthless. From our testing and advertising experience, 20 safelists are good and 10 are best. Focus on the best to increase and maximize your advertising.
We test safelists for overall effectiveness and evaluate the results.
Ineffective safelists are dropped, and we begin testing different
ones. Through this process, we have been able to present you with a
progressively stronger Top 10.
The testing period for a safelist is six weeks or 15
mailings, which ever comes first. Our studies have shown conclusively that if
a safelist hasn’t responded by then, it never will.
A safelist is dropped from our study after six weeks or 15 email messages
have been sent if the safelist has not meet our minimum requirements for
membership responsiveness.
In the case of credit-based safelists, if we’ve run out of credits and
have no referrals, the safelist is dropped. We’re not opposed to reading a
certain amount of email messages to earn credits, but won’t do so for
safelists that have had no responses. Some safelists are dropped if our stats
show an attempt to skew testing results by repeatedly clicking on our links.
We keep an eye on that!
Why is testing important? If you’re not testing yourself
or using our services, we absolutely guarantee you’re wasting your time with
safelists.
The statistic that 95% of safelists are totally ineffective, meaning they
NEVER have a single response from their members EVER, has held true across
the two years we’ve been testing.
We can understand why some safelists may not appreciate testing. Our
estimate is that 95% fit into that category. Nonetheless, all safelists
undergo the same process. TrafficHoopla.com began testing safelists in
March 2003. We’ve evaluated and/or tested thousands of safelists to bring you
the collection of responsive safelists in this report. Most safelists fail
pre-testing. Scores of other safelists have proven ineffective through careful
testing.
