According to Charles Arthur in The Guardian, there is an emerging rule of thumb when it comes to the Internet: For every 100 people online, one person will create content; 10 will “interact,” meaning make comments; and the other 89 will merely view what’s there. It’s called the 1 percent rule.
Arthur also points out that YouTube has gone from having zero to 60 percent of all online video viewing in just 18 short months. YouTube has passed the 100 million downloads per day mark. But the site’s uploads at the time were only at 65,000 per day. That puts its number a bit below the 1 percent rule, but its close.
At Wikipedia, it has been reported that 50 percent of all the edits are done by 0.7 percent of users. More than 70 percent of its articles have been written by 1.8 percent of its users.
Keep this in mind as you build and promote your Internet business today.

This reminds me of the so-called 80-20 rule, which states that 20% of the people in an organization (online or offline) will do 80% of the work (an also make 80% of the earnings). So join the pro-active 20% guys and girls and collect your profit
