Our family car, a large SUV, needed new tires, so I bought new tires today.
Because we live slightly outside a large metropolitan area, we put a lot of miles on this family car. Plus, we love to travel, too.
Therefore, when looking for new tires for this family car, I want the best. So I began googling.
A look on Google presented all kinds of reviews, ideas, and suggestions. However, after an hour of reading, my head was spinning, and I was more confused than ever.
Reading one persons review about Brand A, it was obvious they simply had a bad experience. Not sure, really, if this brand is good or bad, but I know at least one person isn’t happy.
Another review, this time Brand B, and it was an obvious bias, they likely worked with this company, and/or had some sort of incentive for giving such a rave review. It wasn’t helpful at all.
And another review, about Brand C, was somewhat confusing, as they said it’s their favorite, it’s the prettiest, yet they noted that it failed to deliver the mileage wear, as promised.
Then, I found consumer reports, where they actually test tires, and rank based on statistical testing data. Now we are talking. This is exactly what I needed, as my guide, to make a smart decision, especially one that involves my wallet.
And yes, I bought new tires today.
An Interesting Note About This Experience:
The Top 3 highest ranked tires for my large SUV, were not the most popular. In fact, the most popular brand, hyping some new fancy and expensive model, actually tested rather poorly.
By the way, using testing reports based on statistical testing data as our guide for making advertising decisions, is exactly the way we do things around here, since day 1. This is the Hoopla Way!
