It's very easy to fall into a trap - we're told so many times that "the money is in the list".

It is, but updates and subscriber follow ups only work effectively if you provide benefit to readers. If every update is a blatant sales message subscribers will either ignore them or unsubscribe very quickly.

I heartily agree with Earl Landry and want to add the following:

In your verification email insert my promotion URL too! It is soooo time consuming to sign up, wait for the confirmation email, sign in and the start your serach for this important URL.

Surely you can rotate the emails in such a way that I dont get 15 of the same ones on the same day and surely you can set the rotater to send a set number, which should preferably not be 50 a day.

I am dead certain that I we receive much less emails, we will read them (instead of just deleting) and the sender will profit (which is the main goal?)

If you open your email and there are 50 to 80 from the same company, you just delete. This miss the whole purpose.

Another thing that frustrates me is this 2 - 3 page emails. Sorry, I am not interested in stories about this and that. This is business. So let's get down to business. Tell me what you have or want, clear and straight (I don't want to wonder what you actually tried to do or sell after I read it).

I'll read the first two paragraphs and if it doesn't say anything about business, I delete -sorry. A day have so many hours and I don't intend spending them reading stories, emotion creating paragraphs and blah blah blah.

Thanks. It felt good to air my frustrations.

I agree Bill,

You sign up at a traffic exchange and I hate to say this but like the ones in your top 5, expecting to get the traffic you need to your website.

The first thing is waiting to get the verification email to verify your account -- being a traffic exchnage owner my self I do ubnderstand the reason for this -- but now the "fun" begins.

You verify your email and are excited to get things set up and you login and what do you know it's a OTO -- no problem you go to the bottom of the page and select "no thanks take me to my account" and guess what there is another OTO but this time it is half the price of the last offer.

So you go to the bottom of the page and select the link "no thanks take me to my account" and guess what you hit another OTO and this time it is half the price of the last offer.

So at this point I give up. I just want to do my part to get traffic to my site.

By the way, I have not even gone to my members area to set up my website and I have already receive 2 email from the owner with there special offers again.

But, I guess I am the only one who feels this way because these TE have thousands and thousands of members waiting to see my website.

Go figure!

I have to agree wholeheartedly Bill.

One of the nastiest techniques I have noticed is the number of so called 'Gurus' using the 'Sorry, Here Is The Correct Link' email. What?! Are you kidding me?!

This was happening so often that I truly belive it was done on purpose. Put a broken link in an email (or forget the link all together) just so you have an excuse to send your message out again. Geesh, talk about tacky!

One marketer who owns several TEs doesn't even have the decency to create a master list. Every time he has something new to promote, I get triplicate emails of the same offers multiple times daily. As mentioned in the reply above, the only way to avoid this is to cancel my membership. Definitely a good example of Poor Customer Service.

I enjoyed your email. You know I have belonged to Traffic Hoopla for a long time now and have never unsubscribed because I think I will learn how to use it some day. I am 77 and a little slow on the computer but one of these days I will study the method well enough to learn how to use it. thanks for continuing to send. Joni
