Tim Linden Traffic Hoopla Review Motive

September 8, 2008 by TrafficHoopla Team

Tim Linden is a young, Internet savvy, program/script writer and the owner of a manual hit exchange called StartXchange. He is also known for regular postings on the Tim Linden blog, most often writing reviews about others.

As we’ve observed these reviews, they are an excellent search engine ranking tactic, with an ultimate goal of promoting Tim Linden.  Good job!

One such review of others appearing on the Tim Linden blog in May 2208 is about us, TrafficHoopla. We have no real problems with Tim’s tactics and negative opinion about us, but since it is ranked high in Google for TrafficHoopla, we thought it is only fair, and the right thing to do, to post The Real Story Behind Tim’s Traffic Hoopla Review.

First, TrafficHoopla is not the Hit Exchange Report, although both are apart of the LivingWizards Company. TrafficHoopla is a free traffic builder (aka downline builder) and simply uses the current Hit Exchange Report rankings as a guide for program inclusion.

It is no secret to this “increase web site traffic” world that Tim Linden doesn’t like TrafficHoopla because he doesn’t like his Hit Exchange Report ranking (or lack there of). Some of you have read his Traffic Hoopla Review, where he writes …

so I did a test.. I added some credits to the account, and watched. Sure enough it boosted our rankings. So I mentioned it inside a thread on NMF, and since then am no longer listed by them (along with another exchange who also tested our hypothesis).

Not so fast …  The real story …  Motive?

What is not well known is that Tim sent us a series of emails prior to this, in rage about his ranking, and flat out searching for, expecting, and demanding a higher ranking. And it was only after not liking our response (100% independent, rankings based on stats only, a team of testers, etc.) that he performed what he calls a test. Consequently, after taking notice of what he had done and viewing it as manipulation, we noted his actions in the Hit Exchange Report along with a caution to our clients.

Tim’s emails, complaint about his rankings, and an attempt to manipulate our stats to improve his rankings is nothing new to the Hit Exchange Report. The fact is this is a tough business where exchange owners love us when ranked well and hate us when not. We have seen it all over the years (Since 2002), threats, banning, manipulation, and praise. Oh, we love the praise (BIG SMILE!!!).

If not currently listed, this does not mean it’s not being tested, just not currently a Top 20 manual hit exchange.

At the time of this writing (Sept 08), we collected and analyzed more than 6000 hits from StartXchange for the current report. On average, more than 3000 hits have been collected and analyzed from StartXchange for every report thus far in 2008.

Delivery + Unique + Sitting Balance + Bounce Rate + New Visitors + Actual Results = Overall Hit Exchange Report Ranking.
